Gavin Caldwell
Managing Director
Since moving to London as a bright eyed and ambitious youth in 1991 I’ve worked in various aspects of the media industry, including the national press, magazines, regional press, marketing and creative services. I’ve worked with all sorts of clients during the last 16 years from large multinationals to start-ups and they have all been really interesting and if you believe that you’ll believe anything!
I’m passionate about delivering creative solutions for our clients that not only provide innovative design but also work as robust business tools even if that means there are a few rows on the way.
I like:
My amazing wife Jac, I wish I had half your ability, my son Jake, what can I say captain of the football team, captain of the rugby team, youngest person to represent his school at chess and damn good looking, what a chip off the old block! George, could anyone ever have a more faithful and stupid companion. Cooking and eating, no really Kim I do like eating. Everyone at Sprout, all our brilliant and supportive clients, clever and thoughtful suppliers, you know who you are, Cameron! All the mates who’ve put their neck on the line to use Sprout I hope we never let you down. Uncle Nick, nuff said. Liverpool FC the greatest football team in the world bar non, keep dreaming United and Chelski. France and everything about it. George Lucas, you changed my life sir. JRR Tolkien, you opened my mind long before anybody new who Peter Jackson was. Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall and Pete Collins without you I would have no pigs, chickens or a vegetable patch. Guinness, Magners, Red Wine, White Wine and finally, David Mason the most talented creative in London, the best business partner anyone has ever had and still after everything we’ve been through my mate.
I dislike:
Manchester United, slow paying clients, suppliers that don’t innovate, Manchester United, Fosters, all reality television especially Big Brother, everything on ITV with the exception of Liverpool playing in the Champions League and formula 1 although I think both should still be on the BBC, Magic FM, bland design, Manchester United, the public sector tendering process, Manchester United clients who expect free creative, milky coffee, coffee served in ludicrously large paper cups, oh and Manchester United!
